Kitsap County Master Gardeners and Ueland Tree Farm
Team Up For 2012 Native Plant Salvage Event
Hi Folks,
Ueland Tree Farm is excited to join with the WSU Kitsap County Master Gardeners again and open up a portion of the tree farm to the public to salvage native plants the weekend of February 25-26. Plants available for salvage include Douglas Fir, Western White Pine, Western Hemlock, Western Red Cedar, Rhododendron, Salal, Huckleberry, Oregon Grape, and Sword Fern. Kitsap County Master Gardeners will be available over the weekend to provide advice on how to dig up and transplant native vegetation, as well as to answer questions.
Ueland Tree Farm will be open February 25th and 26th from 9:00am to 3:30pm. Last year over 85 vehicles took advantage of the free plants and transplanting advice from the Master Gardeners. The tree farm is located just northwest of Kitsap Lake (City of Bremerton) at the end of Lebers Lane. A map can be found below. Welcome to the Ueland Tree Farm, LLC web site. This site has been established by Ueland Tree Farm as a resource for the community and other interested parties to share information about proposed activities at Ueland Tree Farm. The tree farm includes a 1,700-acre working forest located near Kitsap Lake in central Kitsap County. In addition, the tree farm also includes the Carney Lake property, also in Kitsap County.
The web site was established in March 2007 and will be periodically updated as new information becomes available.
